Lillian White was the embodiment of the Democratic Party’s principals and ideals. Lillian
passed away in 2005, but her spirit and dedication lives on in Maine Township. Each year we
look for the person who best represents Lillian White’s long and distinguished life of public
service and commitment to her family.
With those thoughts in mind we present the annual Lillian White Award to the following
individuals for outstanding achievement in the Democratic principles she represented .

2007: Norma Daniels


Lillian White was active in politics, social
issues and her family in a way that few
others could achieve. Lillian was
President of the Woman’s Auxiliary of VFW
Post #7712 located in Niles between the
years of 1988 to 1992. She served as the
Fourth District President of the Ladies
Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War
from July 1, 1994 to June 30, 1995.
Lillian was a long time precinct captain
and officer for the Maine Township
Regular Democratic Organization, a
candidate for Maine Township Trustee,
and an Illinois Delegate to the Democrat
National Convention held in Atlanta,
Georgia in 1988.
Lillian was an active parent in both Oak
Elementary School and Maine East High
School. She was a mother of four and wife
to Bill White.
